Offering the finest in Lebanese cuisine and entertainment within an opulent, dramatic setting on the lobby level of the hotel, is Awtar.

With a capacity for 120 diners inside the restaurant where sociable family-style service lends the restaurant perfectly to large parties as well as intimate dinners, Awtar offers diners a warm welcome from the moment they step into the restaurant's plush interior, complete with an extravagantly-swathed, tent-style ceiling. A terrace overlooking the hotel's gardens also seats 36 guests for balmy, intimate outdoor dining in the cooler months.

Awtar's menu specializes in Lebanese cuisine with an emphasis on authenticity and quality in terms of both cuisine with chefs from Lebanon at the helm of the kitchen and the produce, which is imported directly into the region right down to the oils used for cooking and dressing.

Whilst selecting from the restaurant's comprehensive menu, diner's appetites are enticed with a platter of crisp vegetables and herbs together with spicy meats, olives, vegetable batons and almonds. Fourteen hot and sixteen cold Mezze including Kibbah Niyah, Macdus and Samboussek are served alongside traditional salads and freshly-baked pita bread. A selection of fish and seafood including Mashawi Bahria - grilled prawn grouper and squid skewer make the perfect choice for lighter dining whilst Shish Touk, Kofta Kebab, Kheshkhash are included on the poultry and lamb main course choices.

As a spectacular finale to dinner, traditional desserts such as Baklawa - thin layered pastry filled with almonds and Muhallabiya - a creamy pudding flavoured with saffron and rosewater - feature, as do platters of fresh seasonal fruit served on a bed of crushed ice.

Superb entertainment is one of the highlights of an evening at Awtar. A first class trio of Lebanese musicians as well as a singer and a belly dancer will entertain diners every evening throughout dinner and afterwards over coffee, until the early hours.
